Spring time is my favorite time of the year. We live in Idaho, which I love, but the winter drags out forever. There’s a meme out there in the Facebook sphere that seems to reappear every year of a time line saying “Winter”, “Second Winter”, “False Spring”, etc., and somewhere on the line there is an arrow that says, “You are here”. I feel that ESPECIALLY in Rexburg. Don’t get me wrong, I love the snow, but by the end of February, I’m ready for some color in my life.
I’ve always wanted to go out and shoot in the blossoms, but as an elementary teacher, the spring gets kind of crazy, so one big plus of this quarantine thing ending was I got to start shooting again, right as the blossoms came back! Even better is when you get to take pictures of your favorite humans, while getting to try out a dream session.
This is my brother Garth, and his wife Bailey. We all grew up in a small town in Southern Idaho. Bailey was one of “my girls” at my Church’s Girls’ Camp, when we were in the youth program, and wrote Garth as a friend on his mission. They started dating while we were going to school at BYU-Idaho, and now it’s 6 years later!
Bailey is a science teacher at a local middle school. She has a small menagerie of chinchillas, a tree frog, and a bearded dragon named Maverick. Bailey hates spoilers to movies, and loves to read (She has awesome book recommendations, hit her up.) She has also worked so hard training, and is now running half-marathons.
This is my brother, Garth. He works in Health Care Administration, ensuring customer satisfaction with home hospice companies. He’s an aspiring author, and has been a guest motivational speaker several times. Now, he is also training with Bailey for a half-marathon himself!
Together, the two love to play games, read Harry Potter (and other books), and hang out with friends and family. To celebrate their sixth anniversary, they are training to hike the Tetons.
Fun Fact: These two were one of my first engagement sessions!
We love Garth and Bailey’s examples of working on goals. They work so hard on building relationships with each other, and those around them. They are constantly looking for things to work on, and reading about ways to grow.
When they aren’t doing all of that already, they also DJ events, such as school dances, church activities, and occasional weddings. They know how to keep a party going! Garth has DJ’d and MC’d our family reunion talent show for the past two reunions.
We love these two! We were so glad to get to hang out with them after quarantine, and take fun pictures!
And of course, we can’t talk about Garth and Bailey without talking about what an awesome aunt and uncle they are. Via loves when they come to play!
